Learn how to create natural soaps that respect your skin and the environment.
Discover the secrets of artisan soapmaking and the cold saponification technique with Les Ateliers Résilients. This soap-making technique preserves all the beneficial properties of the oils and butters used to make the soap, moisturising, nourishing and/or brightening our skin.
Unlike industrial soaps, cold-process soaps naturally contain glycerine, which moisturises the skin and prevents it from drying out.
In this workshop, you'll learn all about the saponification process, the essential ingredients and the precautions you need to take to make a quality soap. You will follow a specially designed recipe to obtain a balanced soap that is gentle on the skin. Once the soap dough has been prepared, you'll be able to personalise your creation by choosing the colours and applying a decorating technique that I'll show you.
As well as hands-on practice, you'll learn how to make your own recipe at home, balancing the oils and adapting the additions as you wish.
Each participant will make a bar of soap weighing around 500g. The workshop lasts around two hours and is aimed at adults and teenagers aged 16 and over.
It's a rewarding and creative way to learn about traditional soap-making, and leave with a unique, home-made creation.
