As part of the ‘Chemins Parfumés’ (Perfumed Paths) event organised by Pays de Grasse Tourisme, we invite you to immerse yourself in the vibrant and fragrant world of mimosa during an exceptional morning in the heart of the Grasse region.
This self-guided experience (vehicle required) opens the doors to places that are often closed to the public.
Stage 1: The secrets of the sunflower. Your journey begins at a mimosa wholesaler. Accompanied by a professional, you will discover the entire cycle of this flower, from its cultivation in the hills to its global marketing. To mark this moment, you will take part in a workshop to make a flower crown, an elegant and natural accessory to take home with you.
Stage 2: The forcing house and awakening the taste buds.
Next, head to a traditional forcing house. This is where the magic happens: you will learn the ancestral technique of ‘forcing’ which allows bouquets to bloom. The visit ends on a gourmet note with a tasting of artisanal mimosa products.
Step 3: The Art of the Master Candlemaker.
Finally, visit the workshop of a master candlemaker. After a fascinating introduction to the history of candles, you will move on to the practical side. Using the mimosa harvested during the previous steps, you will make your own scented wax tablet, a lasting olfactory souvenir of your getaway.
