When we talk about accessibility for disabled people, we often think of urban areas and rarely natural ones. Rafting-Expérience® is challenging this idea by launching a river sports package specially adapted for people with reduced mobility.
#### A concrete project in Serre Chevalier
Since its creation in 2016, Rafting-Expérience® has developed a range of adapted facilities to enable this audience to enjoy river sports in Serre Chevalier. Located on the banks of Lac du Pontillas in Villeneuve La Salle, the base has installed wheelchair ramps in trucks, customised neoprene wetsuits to make dressing easier, and developed special seats for rafting, tandem hydrospeed and two-seater kayaking.
#### An à la carte formula supervised by professionals
The private formula is flexible and adjustable, allowing organisational, technical and educational adaptation according to the disability situation. Accessible to adults and children aged 10 and over, each 2-hour private rafting, air-boat, cano-raft or hydrospeed session allows one person with reduced mobility and one able-bodied companion to be supervised by one or two professional instructors. The rafts can accommodate up to 6 disabled people and their companions at the same time.
