Using simple tools - charcoal, colored pencils and watercolors - we'll start with our own images and live models.
Drawing inspiration from Nathanaëlle Herbelin's intimate portraits, Anselm Kiefer's "dessins sur le vif" and Rineke Dijkstra's outdoor portraits, we will approach the human figure in different forms.
Through observation and interpretation, we'll work on the face as well as the silhouette, clothing and background, to reveal a presence, a personality.
Françoise Vadon's work revolves around the construction of the image, between colored planes and descriptive features. Whether it's relatives posing in the studio or strangers captured on her cell phone, the human figure remains her main source of inspiration.
