The Maison du Vigneron offers a place to visit at the foot of a steep, century-old vineyard, and a tasting and sales area where the vintages of the 12 Hautes-Alpes winegrowers are presented.
New! Discovery Day, accompanied tour of the Museum and visit to a vineyard with tasting and sale at the producer's! Offer reserved for groups of at least 8 people, by reservation only.
On the slopes of the Durance and in the Avance valley, the vineyards of the Hautes-Alpes are enjoying a renaissance. Its history dates back thousands of years to the Middle Ages. With the phylloxera crisis, this micro-vineyard almost disappeared.
With 160 hectares of vines, some of them the highest in France, the Hautes-Alpes vineyards are classified as IGP Indication Géographique Protégée (Protected Geographical Indication). The estates regularly win prizes and medals, such as Domaine de Tresbaudon, which won 3 gold medals and 1 silver at the Salon de l'Agriculture 2024.
One of the special features of these estates is that they use ancient grape varieties, including one endemic to the Hautes-Alpes, the mollar, which was saved in the 1950s, enabling it to be brought back into cultivation.
