Winter mountaineering with the Bureau des Guides de la Grave

Winter mountaineering and goulotte climbing in the Hautes Vallées and La Meije country is not necessarily synonymous with extreme conditions or climbs made more delicate by snow and ice.
To approach the high peaks of the Écrins or Oisans in the dead of winter is first and foremost to give yourself the opportunity to immerse yourself in a world that is often deserted by man: decked out in snow, the silent mountain offers the mountaineer its most beautiful allure and exceptional light.
It also offers a wide range of activities and sensations: it may be a good idea to approach and return on skis, the cold and wind make you shiver, but if you can taste the winter sunshine at the end of a pitch or at the summit, you'll find yourself in paradise...
Winter mountaineering opportunities around La Grave and in the Écrins massif are numerous and cover all levels of difficulty, from simple introductory runs to longer, more committed ones.
