Explore the world of ceramics and craft your own tableware alongside Jean-Michel, a passionate ceramic artist.
Experience the art of clay with Jean-Michel. He invites you to immerse yourself in the meditative world of hand-building, where you will have the privilege of shaping your own small ceramic tableware.
Workshop programme
Warm welcome and introduction: Meet Jean-Michel as he presents his workshop and the various hand-building techniques you will use.
Shaping your pieces: Learn the essential gestures to work the clay and create several pieces at your own pace and inspiration — bowls, cups, and other unique forms. Jean-Michel will guide you step by step to help you achieve a harmonious result.
Personalising your creations: Unleash your creativity by decorating your pieces. Write a word, carve patterns, imprint lace textures, use stamps brought from India, or experiment with cookie cutters to enhance your creations.
Cleaning and collection arrangements: Clean the materials and hand your works over to the artisan, who will take care of drying, glazing, and double firing. Arrange directly with him how and when to collect your pieces.
A few days later, return to collect your beautiful ceramic tableware, ready to brighten up your home.
To take part in this workshop, please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activities and for the clean-up at the end (leggings or trousers are recommended).
It’s also best to have short nails and to tie back long hair. Lastly, if possible, please bring your own apron.
Please note that there is a risk of breakage during the firing of the pieces. These are the inherent risks of the craft, and the artisan cannot be held responsible.
