Dive into the world of ceramics and discover hand-building techniques over two sessions with Jean-Michel, a master ceramic artisan.
Immerse yourself in the world of ceramics with a two-session workshop designed to introduce you to every stage of the creative process, from shaping to colouring.
– First session: time to work with clay
During this first morning, you will discover several hand-building techniques: pinching, coiling and slab-building. Step by step, you will be guided in creating a variety of pieces according to your inspiration of the moment — bowls, plates, cups… everything you need to bring your own tableware to life.
Once shaped, your pieces will be left to dry before undergoing a first firing at 1000°C for 24 hours.
– Second session: reveal your colours
After a minimum of 5 days (the time required for drying and the first firing), you will return to the workshop to explore the magical stage of glazing. You will learn how to apply glazes using different techniques and choose from a selection of decorative glazes to personalise your pieces.
A second firing at 1000°C will complete your creations.
Your pieces will be ready for collection 1 to 2 days after glazing.
To participate in this workshop, please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activities and for cleaning up afterwards (such as leggings or trousers). It is also recommended to have short nails and to tie back long hair. Finally, if possible, please bring your own apron.
