The 2 brothers, Alexis and Olivier, are local children. A few years ago, they took over this former customs house in the heart of the Queyras.
Located on the GR 58, the Refuge de la Monta provides accommodation for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. A warm welcome awaits you.
Just a stone's throw from the Mont Viso biosphere reserve, the refuge is located in the middle of meadows, and from the terrace it's not unusual to see marmots and mouflons frolicking in unspoilt alpine nature. Accommodation is in dormitories. Meals are served in a large, cosy dining room, where the soul of the mountain farmhouses of yesteryear lives on. Prepared from local produce, home cooking is generous and comforting.
