On the outskirts of little Valréas is a 17th-century château immersed in a sea of vines. New to winemaking, Benoit and Eugenie are passionate about wines and guests, and will give you a chance to taste their award-winning vintages. Delicious breakfast (homemade cakes, jams, Bulgarian yogurt) is served during summer on the vast terrace surrounding the swimming pool. Bedrooms reveal the best of everything: round sinks, antique sofas, aged tommette floors; it is an exquisite restoration. Set off for the gourmet markets of Nyons and Vaison-la-Romaine, explore vineyards on château bikes, return for an afternoon around the octagonal pool.
