A veritable time machine, this experience teleports you to the eve of the Second World War, where you take on the role of a soldier in the Alpine Maginot Line.
Built in 1939 by military manpower, this small underground "metro sheet" shelter was part of the defensive lock on the Montgenèvre pass. Its occupants, the chasseurs alpins, were tasked with blocking the road to Briançon in the event of an invasion by Italian troops.
A direct witness to the past, the site has been restored down to the finest detail to tell its story and the little-known story of the First Battle of the Alps.
Inside, everything has been reconstructed as if the original occupants had just left: bunk beds, straw mattresses, woollen blankets, regulation canteens, wood-burning stove, uniforms, telephone, maps, etc...
