The estate was built by Pierre Joseph Clérissy, youngest of a long line of potters and first faïencier (earthenware craftsman) of Moustiers. Beautifully restored, le Vieux Castel has remained a heaven of serenity, charm and poetry. Guests can enjoy lulling reading nooks and charming antechambers inside, or laze in the quaint gardens in the sun or shade and dip in the relaxing outdoor spa.
All rooms are accessed by the majestic center staircase and furnished with harmonious antiques. Some suites offer a private reading antechamber attached to the room for more privacy. The common areas include cozy salons to lounge and make the most of the generous multilingual library with texts in French, English, and Italian, a game room to enjoy family board games, and an arched cove to be used for meetings, tea time, or yoga.
