La Cayolle Mountain Refuge is located in the middle of the Mercantour National Park, on the Col de la Cayolle mountain pass (2,266m) - perfect for enjoying some fresh air!
- At an altitude of 2266 m, the La Cayolle refuge on the pass of the same name is a popular stopover for mountain lovers.
Following in his mother's footsteps, Emmanuel Oudot has taken over management of the refuge. From mid-June to mid-September, he shares his passion for the area with hikers and tourists alike.
Located at the start of many hikes, the refuge is a strategic point for exploring the Mercantour's high-altitude lakes, peaks and valleys.
In addition to welcoming visitors, the refuge also aims to raise public awareness of the Alpine environment and the preservation of its biodiversity. Thanks to a series of visuals and interactive tools, an exhibition aimed at all ages helps visitors learn about and recognize the natural riches of the National Park.
