Located at an altitude of 2100m, the refuge hosts you in 4 and 8 bed dorms. The evening meal is erved at 7 p.m., betwenn 12 noon and 2 p.m. for lunch. Throughout the day drinks and blueberry tarts are available.
The ibex that graze around the refuge seem to appreciate the place as much as the hikers who stop here. Set at the foot of an Alpine cirque and overlooking the Haut Boréon valley, the panorama from the terrace is exceptional. At 2100 m, the area boasts a particularly rich flora and fauna.
With a capacity of 40 people in summer, the Refuge de la Cougourde welcomes hikers in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The janitor concocts a cuisine based on fresh, local produce for invigorating, delicious meals. During the day, a gourmet stopover is also available.
Located on the GR 52, the Refuge de la Cougourde is an essential stop-off point for discovering the Mercantour wilderness.
