Bec le Beau Confidentiel
Bec is a contraction of the surnames of Edouard Beaufils and Jessica Cogoni. Bec, like the art of feeding mouths, by picking up influences and experiences from here and there that leave their mark on their cuisine and service.
Bec, like a hunger to discover their atypical house in the heart of the Vallée des Baux de Provence. In this farmhouse once home to the Michelin-starred restaurant La Petite France, Jessica, who grew up not far from there, returns accompanied by Edouard, chef and life partner, to wake up the sleeping beauty and create Bec restaurant Paradou.
Alone on board, they are writing a new page in their history and are more united than ever in this project.
FROM APRIL 2025: new chef Eric MARCHESAN will be behind the stoves!
Bec restaurant Paradou is like entering a guest house in the countryside. From the outside, it's a beautiful stone building next to the church of Saint-Martin-de-Castillon. The interior is revealed through the wrought-iron door, with the large dining room bathed in light thanks to an arched bay window, the uprights of which are an elegant reminder of Provencal charm. Across it, the beautiful private walled terrace, lined with laurel and vines, with a few herbs planted in the beds, comes alive in fine weather. The walls - also of exposed stone - have a rough feel, subtly counterbalanced by the blue velvet seats and tables made to measure from Meranti wood by an Arles craftsman (Menuiserie Correze).
For Jessica and Edouard, all it took was a little extra soul to bring Bec Paradou restaurant to life: pretty bouquets of dried flowers, sewing tables next to the tables to hold basins and carafes... Subtle touches that reveal the attention paid to every detail.
At the far end of this room, the pantry installed in the former cellar allows Jessica to keep an eye on things, but also to welcome a few guests on the large central island who wish to have lunch on their own, but still enjoy her company.
Following on from the dining room, a second, more intimate room features a large dining table for up to 12 people. On the edge of the large fireplace, the various jars of the chef's pickles and fermentations create a colourful mosaic.
