Archives Municipales de Toulon

They carry out four public service missions:
> Collection :
The Archives provide assistance and advice to municipal departments in organizing their archival holdings. They can receive archive donations from private individuals or organizations if they concern Toulon.
> Classification :
They produce paper and computerized inventories of holdings for use by municipal departments and researchers.
> Preservation :
They ensure that documents are properly preserved and restored where necessary. Staff ensure that documents are properly handled in the reading room.
> Communication:
They promote and disseminate our heritage by welcoming researchers to the reading room, welcoming schoolchildren, putting information on line, staging exhibitions, taking part in Heritage Days and publishing the journal Archives littéraires, 83000.
Correspondence research is carried out if the time required is reasonable.
Make an archive donation
If you would like to donate an archive (paper documents, photographs, postcards, home movies, books, magazines) to the Toulon Archives, please contact us on 04 83 16 65 65. You can also lend us your documents so that we can digitize them. Your donations help enrich our collections, contribute to a better understanding of our town's history, and protect and enhance your documents. If you wish, your donations can bear your name. Private donations are listed in the S series.
