Workshop of sundials, orientation tables, enameled lava : strreet signs, ornamental panels..

A sundial for your house ? These mysterious and luminous objects are useful in general to know the local time, the time of the place if it is clearer, by marking the position of the sun during its day course. This marking is done most of the time with the shade of an axis (the style or gnomon) : when the sun is on the east, it raises over the horizon, it is the morning : when the sun is in the south (in our northern hemisphere) then it is at its highest point in the sky, it is midday (midday for the sun of course) and this is the middle of the day ; when the sun is on the west, it goes down towards the horizon, it is setting down, this is the afternoon or the evening. The Anglo-Saxons say : Ante meridiem for the morning : the sun is not yet under the meridian ; post meridian for the afternoon : the sun has passed the meridian.
