Martigues train station is located on the outskirts of the city center. Reach Martigues city center in 19 minutes with the Ulysse L23 bus.

- Sports activities with the Martigues Sailing Club (windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, dinghy sailing) or Hot School Martigues (watersports school - windsurfing, paddleboarding, towed watersports). A 30-minute ride from the station by Ulysse bus (L30 or L23).
- Discover the cultural heritage: the Chapel of the Annunciation, Le Calen (one of the last remaining in France), the sculptures of Bourvil and Fernandel related to the film "La Cuisine au Beurre" (Butter Cuisine) filmed in Martigues, the house shaped like a gendarme's hat, the sculptures of the fisherman and the net mender in homage to Martigues, a fishing town, the Miroir aux Oiseaux (Mirror of Birds) inspired by numerous painters, the Martigues drawbridge, and the Church of Saint-Louis d'Anjou.
In 25-30 minutes, you can reach the outskirts of town to visit the Tholon archaeological site and discover the Chapel of Notre-Dame-des-Marins, where you can admire the highest viewpoint in Martigues.
- Gastronomy: The Jonquières and Ferrières markets (Thursday and Sunday mornings), the "Aux Perles de l'Étang" artisan pastry shop to discover local specialties: terracotta tiles and "Pearls of the Pond," and the "Gelateria Arnaldo" artisan ice cream shop. 10 minutes from the train station by Ulysse bus (L23 or L26).
- Nature, walks, and hikes: The Grand Parc de Figuerolles (educational farm, treetop adventure course, carousel, picnic area), the "Entre Mer et Étangs" trail, the GR2013 long-distance hiking trail from Martigues to Croix-Sainte train station, and the Marie-Madeleine trail from Martigues to Carry-le-Rouet. Also enjoy the Ferrières beach in the town center. 15 minutes from the train station by Ulysse bus (L23 or L26).
- Free museums: the Ziem Museum (temporary exhibitions), the Martigues History Gallery, and the Gnidzaz Cinematheque. A 13-minute Ulysse bus ride (L23 or L26) takes you from the train station.

- By bicycle (allowed on trains except during peak hours), take the greenway from Lavéra train station towards Martigues city center to the drawbridge (2 km).
Martigues station (Lavéra) no longer has ticket offices since September 1, 2023. An automatic terminal is available outside the site for any ticket purchase.
The ticket office at the station is no longer in operation.
