At the age of 16, Romu began training in the signage industry. This training provides access to a range of skills leading to trades such as ironworker, plasturgist, neonist, electrician, layout designer, letter painter and installer.

In 1988, he began specializing in neon (glassblowing with blowtorches, neon tube sign-making).

He set up his own company (Néonart de Vinci) in 1996, when his son was born. This gave him the time to research his work in greater depth, allowing him to test the technical limits of neon tubes, control their light, subtract colors and study the work of contemporary artists.

For him, the glass tube becomes a vehicle for light, a tool for writing, painting and sculpting.

Like a brushstroke, a line of light, it becomes a link between the worlds of workers, teachers, events and contemporary art.
