About 25 years ago, Nicolas Hervo and a group of young surfers from the area decided to make traditional local and recyclable surfboards.

Nicolas Hervo started shaping in 1982 at the age of 13 in a shaping workshop, Saga Jump, run by Frantz Daher.
Then, with his brothers, they transformed the family garage into a shape-room.
Nicolas founded the Manipura brand in 1992 and adopted the lifestyle of the artisan surfer.
Since then he has been shaping and laminating his boards in La Ciotat where he pays attention to every detail.
He continues to refine and perfect this process to make it available to you.
