Montagnes d'Ubaye is a local agency specialising in hiking, trekking and nature activities in the Ubaye valley, the Southern Alps and the Mercantour National Park.
We are united by a common spirit of love for nature, and pay particular attention to quality, safety and respect for the environment in all our activities.
With over 20 years' experience in nature-based activities, our respective infrastructures and our group service, we can also design tailor-made events for groups and seminars.
Montagnes d'Ubaye is your direct point of contact for a wide range of activities. Organising your holiday will be that much easier.
Rafting: a raft is an unsinkable, self-bailing boat, paddled by a qualified guide. Both fun and sporty, it makes for great family outings or thrilling descents.
Kayak raft: an inflatable kayak that is stable, light and self-bailing. Equipped with a double paddle, you can discover the thrills of solo navigation, on a course where rapids and calm zones follow one another. A guide accompanies you on the water.
Canoe raft: this is a stable, self-bailing, inflatable two-seater canoe. With a single or double paddle and a guide on the water, take on the waves!
White-water swimming: also known as hydrospeed, you use a thick wetsuit to propel and orient yourself using flippers. The guide who accompanies you on the water will teach you how to surf your first waves!
Tree climbing: You'll be moving through the trees on an exceptional site on the banks of the Ubaye. Fun and sporty, this accrobranche course includes various workshops combining trees and rocks, zip lines and Nepalese bridges over the river, monkey bridges and lianas... A vertiginous 13-metre jump has been added to the 4 courses already in place... Come and push back your limits!
Paragliding: all year round, by appointment, we offer discovery flights in a two-seater paraglider. There are 4 possible first flights: morning Point de vue, morning or evening Soleil-Bœuf or afternoon Dôme de l'Alpe.
Canyoning: equipped with a neoprene wetsuit, helmet and harness, you will travel along a canyon with your guide. As you abseil down waterfalls and slides, you'll discover enchanting places in an aquatic environment. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, come and experience the thrill of canyoning for half a day!
Climbing: In summer, we offer climbing schools for children and adults several times a week, as well as beautiful long routes for the more experienced climbers.
Mountaineering: the Ubaye valley has some great rock and mixed routes all year round. Discover some magnificent routes in Ubaye and neighbouring mountain ranges: Le Brec and the Aiguilles du Chambeyron, the Dôme des Écrins, Mont Viso...
Via ferrata: a superb journey into the vertical world along routes equipped with cables, ladders and suspended walkways. The pleasure of climbing without the worry of technicality.
Mountain biking: if you want to discover mountain biking in complete safety, our mountain biking instructor will be happy to guide you on guided tours, as well as offering courses to help you improve your downhill, handling or trial technique. Discover the picturesque sites of our valley in an original way: rolling trails in the forest, technical routes, long descents in the heart of nature.
Hiking: discover the Ubaye valley with our themed outings, led by mountain guides and naturalists in the field. In small groups, we offer walks and hikes for all levels: hikes in the Mercantour National Park, sporting hikes, outings for children and families, nights in mountain huts, unusual evenings, night-time visits to forts or tales and legends...
Aqua-ludic hikes: halfway between hiking and canyoning, but without ropes or harnesses, you hike in a torrent wearing suitable equipment (overalls and neoprene socks). The approach is simple and fun. Feet in the water, a refreshing walk in a beautiful torrent, massages under the waterfalls, natural jacuzzis and observation of the aquatic environment for the nature aspect (fossils, insects, birds...). An outing perfectly suited to families, which will delight the youngest from the age of 8.
