The Massif des Costes is a natural area in the heart of Provence, comprising 5 communes: Alleins, Aurons, La Barben, Pélissanne and Vernègues.
Located on the banks of the River Touloubre, Pélissanne is a surprising village laid out in the form of a snails shell. Although it is a major crossroads, none of the roads penetrate into the heart of the village. There are fine rustic-style 17th century houses and a 15th century belfry.
