The nuns have been living in the small Provençal village of Blauvac since 1991. They open the doors of their church, their park and their monastic shop.
A haven of peace and serenity in the Vaucluse region, the Abbey of Notre Dame de Bon Secours is a community of Cistercian nuns who live and share their experience with openness and discretion, finding simple joy in sisterhood, meaning, and spontaneous praise.
Through these surroundings, a centuries-old way of life is revealed to visitors, whether they stay for an hour or a lifetime. Our community was in fact re-established after the turmoil of the Revolution by Sisters who had travelled throughout Europe, from refuge to refuge, to continue living and passing on their charism.
The church, always open, speaks of our resolute choice of innovative fidelity to our tradition. It offers a modest and proportionate 21st-century echo of its three illustrious ‘Cistercian sisters’ at Sénanque, Silvacane and Le Thoronet. Services are open to all who wish to attend.
The grounds convey the joy of a simple life, open to nature and reality, in contrast to the virtual world and its ceaseless demands.
The shop and exhibition hall, open every day except Mondays, reflect our commitment to realism and the spiritual choice to live from our work, providing opportunities for relationships and collaboration with other monasteries, as well as local artisans.
Our site is the ideal place to organise artistic and cultural workshops.
