The bridge over the Artuby, also known as the Pont de Chaulière, spans a vertiginous canyon adjacent to the famous Gorges du Verdon.
Designed between 1938 and 1940 by Thorrand et Cie of Nice, based on plans by the Pelnard-Considère et Caquot engineering firm, this 110-meter-long, single-arch bridge links the two banks of the Artuby at La Mescla, less than two kilometers before the torrent flows into the Verdon.
Its overhead lines, total length of 142 metres and height of 182 metres have made the Artuby bridge a real tourist attraction in the region. In fact, it is one of the highest bridges in Europe. The panoramic view from the bridge deck offers a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of imposing landscapes, harmoniously combining limestone cliffs, hills and ridges covered with Mediterranean vegetation.
Adrenalin junkies can also try their hand at bungee jumping from the Pont de l'Artuby. Thrills guaranteed!
