The CCVUSP, in partnership with Frac Sud – Cité de l’art contemporain and the Department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, is delighted to present the exhibition ‘Bouquet d’étoiles’.
A unique exhibition that draws on the valley’s distinctive history. In the 19th century, many residents of the Ubaye who had set off to seek their fortune in Mexico brought back to their villages imagery, traditions and aesthetics from Latin America. This migrant heritage, still evident in the local architecture and folklore, now serves as the guiding thread for a new artistic venture.
This exhibition brings together works from the Frac’s collections with creations by local artists. Drawing on Latin American imagery, it explores the spiritual connections between the stars, nature and the living world. Vibrant colours, celestial forms and dreamlike motifs resonate with the Alpine landscapes in spring to create a bridge between the Alps and Latin America.
Combining historical heritage, intercultural dialogue and cosmic imagination, ‘Bouquet d’étoiles’ offers an artistic journey accessible to all.
