In the heart of the old town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, the Hôtel de Sade is a concentrate of history that has crossed the centuries from the very high Middle Ages to the Renaissance. It owes its name to the building erected in the 16th century by the family of the famous marquis.
Acquired by the state in the 20th century, it was from the 1950's onwards the repository for the excavations of the site of Glanum. Successive discoveries have continued to enrich the collections. This is how the current vocation of the building became the Center of Ancient Archaeology.
