The present chapel is located on the site of a former Romanesque church from the 11th century.

Ancient Romanesque church originally dedicated to Saint-André belonging to the Hospital St-Jacques, welcomed passing travelers. It becomes towards 1326 Notre-Dame-de-Consolation.
