The Saint-Priest chapel, located at an altitude of 1,066 m on the same mountain range as the Notre-Dame-de Liesse chapel, seems to have been erected in 1098.
On this site there was an oppidum of the Verucini tribe and the first castle town of Verignon, whose remains date back to the 11th century.
Saint Priest himself lived in the 7th century. He was bishop of Clermont and was the founder of many monasteries in his diocese.
It can also be said that, unlike N-D de Liesse, this chapel is located in a more pleasant environment: it is surrounded by a carpet of grass and some trees with generous branches.
