This small chapel is situated exactly on the pass of the "Freinet" at the entrance of the village and dates probably from the 15th Century. Longtime the chapel was looked after by farm people, for St Eloi is the protector of agricultural activities and especially of farm animals.
During the Revolution the town council refused to destroy the chapel since it was used to shelter travelers when the weather was bad. From World War I it was used for different purposes. In World War II it was used as dormitory for German prisoners.
From 1980 until 1995 it was used as the tourist office.
