The Chateau de Picomtal overlooks Lake Serre-Ponçon.
The first castle, built from an 11th-century watchtower, came to life in the 14th century and was enlarged in the 16th century. The château is a popular venue for tours and has its own bedrooms.
French-style garden redesigned in the late 20th century.
Originally a simple watchtower, it has been altered and developed several times over the centuries. Today, set in wooded parkland with a small terraced garden, it is a charming, tranquil ensemble overlooking the Durance valley, making it easy to forget its primarily military past. The current owners are keen to offer guided tours, theme days and workshops, as well as a summer cultural programme. The site is also an exceptional guest house, with 9 suites and rooms, each with its own character.

Additional information: Guided tours on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 11am in July and August, and on request the rest of the year.

Guided tours without reservation. Please arrive up to 15 minutes before the start of the tour (11 am).
