- Isolated on the Route des Alpes, between Avignon and Forcalquier, the gardens of Château de Sauvan attract visitors' interest and admiration in many ways. Unspoiled horizons, two-hundred-year-old trees, aviaries, ponds and water features, the park is a majestic celebration of nature.
Conceived as a showcase for the château, it formed an indissociable and harmonious whole with the 18th-century architecture. Laid out in successive terraces to adapt to the terrain, the sumptuous formal garden and its ornamentation have unfortunately suffered the vicissitudes of history. Thanks to an ambitious restoration project, the site has now been restored to its classical lines and former splendor.
