This disused church, on the upper square of Puyloubier village, was the first parish church of the canton. Its construction began in the 9th century, and it became the church of Sainte Marie in the 11th century.
After being rebuilt and added to several times between the 13th and 16th centuries, it was finally abandoned in the 19th century.
In 2005, restoration work began on the walls and staircase with a view to creating a cultural venue in the future.
