58 rue de Fleury, 83600 Fréjus
The canons surrounded and assisted the bishop. Headed by a provost, they formed the Chapter. The first mention of a Chapter in Fréjus dates back to 1038.
The episcopal buildings complex in Fréjus constitutes the heart of the mediaeval city. The cloister was opened to the public to enable access to the Cathedral and beyond this functional peculiarity it has retained an original décor, a fantastic mediaeval bestiary which is worth the detour!
