The Domaine de l'Ermitage is a former farm dating from the end of the 19th century. It is owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral and managed by the town of Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer.
This agricultural past has made it possible to preserve the 9 hectares of land on the estate from urbanisation, despite the covetousness of its exceptional location a few kilometres from the Toulon conurbation.
As soon as it was acquired in 2008 by the Conservatoire du littoral, a management plan for the site was drawn up in collaboration with the commune of Saint Mandrier, in order to preserve the coastal landscapes and to promote a project that would revive the site and its agricultural past, while opening it up to the public.
