Built on the site of an old 17th century chapel, Notre-Dame de Bon Port, on the edge of the dunes, where sailors from Cannes came to ask the Virgin for protection for a “good voyage”, the Notre-Dame church de Bon Voyage, is the work of architect Laurent Vianey. Of Romanesque inspiration, it was consecrated on November 2, 1879. The church was the scene of large ceremonies, such as the marriage of the Count of Voguë in 1882, or the funeral of the Duke of Vendôme in 1931. A plaque on the wall , on the rue Bivouac-Napoléon side, reminds us that at this location, on the night of August 1 to 2, 1815, the emperor, returning from the island of Elba, set up his camp.
