Eglise Paroissiale, Saint Pons, 04140 Seyne
Built during the 11th century on the heights of Seyne, in the hamlet of St Pons, it held until the 15th century when it was damaged by the troops of the Count of Turenne
It was rebuilt a few years later, with the year 1437 engraved on the bell tower, attesting to either its restoration or the destruction of Beauvillar, a highly distressing episode in the history of Seyne. It was damaged again during the Wars of Religion by protestants troops in 1586, but then restored in 1605.

To discover : behind the monumental 19th century marble altar, the former main altar and its beautiful altarpiece against the wall at the back of the choir and set in 1777.

This historical monument bears witness to the epic events that unfolded in Seyne between the 15th and the 18th century.
Take a leap back in time and immerse yourself in the turbulent past of Seyne-les-Alpes.
