The church was built on the site of a former chapel, probably dating back to the 12th century.
Around 1930, the building was in danger of collapsing. It was therefore completely renovated in the late 1930s, thanks in particular to the generosity of Mademoiselle de Jonquières, who financed a large part of the work and donated a new altar.
