Sitting on the fold of a ravine, known locally as "Detroit", the mediaeval village Entrepierres is aptly named.
It was built in the 17th century on both sides of a sloping mule track beginning in Sisteron.
Entrepierres was restored in the late 20th century before the residents scattered in the plain, where the soil is more fertile. This eagle’s nest is now occupied by birds of prey.
