Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, 13800 Istres
At the heart of the revitalization of the Etang de l'Olivier, the Esplanade Sainte Catherine has undergone a huge facelift and changed its name.
Istres has paid tribute to former Mayor Bernardin Laugier, who has worked for 40 years at the service of the city by giving its name to the square in front of the new town hall. On the 6,000 m"from the esplanade Bernardin Laugier, one can discover the long diagonal with its 57 pillars of 114 505 cm in height, in the colours of the city, without forgetting the famous stripes which recall columns to the black and white stripes that made the fame of Buren.
