The entrance hall, the large living room, the marble staircase and the music room are inscribed under the title of historical monuments (28/12/79), the facades, the roof and the garden on 17/10/12. The former hotel received the 20th century heritage label in 2013.
Built in 1897, the Riviera is one of the first palace hotels in the city. Swiss hotelier Widmer buys land on the Annonciade hill with the intention of building a sumptuous establishment surrounded by a large park. It was designed by the architect Abel Glena and the painter Guillaume Cerutti-Maori. The extension program planned by the same architect in 1910, is carried out by his collaborator, Alfred Auguste Marsang, and includes a three-storey elevation and the addition of a west wing. The...
