Stele erected at the inauguration of the new village on January 22, 1977, bearing a plaque in memory of Jean Gombert, former mayor of Les Salles.

Jean Gombert never accepted that the village of Les Salles sur Verdon was swallowed up and the commune struck off the list of communes in France.
He devoted all his energy to the construction of the new village and laid the first stone on 26 July 1970.

May he be thanked for this exemplary dedication.
