Jeanne de Quiqueran, Lady of Les Baux, was the wife of Honoré des Martins, governor of Les Baux de Provence and successor of Montmorency. Together with her sister, she built Quiqueran hospital between 1542 and 1583 in the upper part of town, near the old Saint Blaise Chapel. The hospital cared for ordinary patients, while Saint-André hospital, in the Valley, was transformed into a leprosarium. It was later renamed 'Hôtel Dieu et Charité des Baux' and remained open until 1787. It is a beautiful building with a remarkable colonnade on the first floor.
