Perched 429 metres above the sea, the exotic garden is a veritable break from nature, in the heart of the picturesque village of Eze, around ten kilometres from Nice. The panorama is one of the most exceptional on the Riviera.
The Jardin Exotique d'Eze, set in the ruins of a medieval fortress, is home to a botanical collection dedicated to succulent plants from several continents, particularly Central America.

Succulent plants store sap to resist drought. They can be found in the driest parts of the planet, in places where there are long periods without rainfall: cacti, aloes, agaves and other surprising plants such as the dragée plant, Aeonium arboreum, with its black rosettes.

A themed trail allows visitors to learn about and recognise these plants and discover the history and legends of the area.

The Jardin Exotique is also a great place to soak up the atmosphere of the Côte d'Azur. Sculptures by Jean-Philippe Richard are set out along the paths. From the summit at an altitude of 429 m, you can enjoy an exceptional panorama of the Mediterranean, all the way to Saint-Tropez. On a clear day, you may even catch a glimpse of Corsica.

The northern part of the garden features a Mediterranean garden with grottoes, a waterfall and Provençal garrigue plants, as well as areas for relaxation and meditation, and fountains for cooling off and quenching your thirst.

Finally, the western part of the garden, also known as the "Zen space", features deckchairs, waterfalls and sea views. It's an area conducive to peace and tranquillity..

  • Ils s'engagent
At 429 m above the waves, the Jardin exotique d'Eze forms a spectacular link between the Mediterranean and the luminous skies of the Côte d'Azur.
Sheltered from northerly winds and efficiently drained by the slopes of the land, the site provides an ideal environment for all plants adapted to drought. Thus was born the Exotic Garden, with a southern section dedicated to desert species. The shadier, wetter northern section favours Mediterranean plants. As for the Zen area, it collects subtropical plants and cool spots...
A place to relax and stroll, it's also a great learning tool for botany buffs.
