A rose stood in February 2014 at the end of the Beisson district, north of the city of Aix-en-Provence.
Designed by internationally famous contemporary artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, La Rose des Vents is a monumental mobile sculpture 5.70m high.
With its steel base and beads of gold-coloured stainless steel, it stands on the Belvedere of the Beisson estate, which is close to Cézanne’s studio and offers spectacular views over the city and Sainte-Victoire mountain.
