Chemin Du tour de l'étang, 13800 Istres
On the outskirts of Istres, below the Route de Miramas, this park, developed by the town is home to a wide variety of fauna and flora, a vegetable garden, an orchard and several biotopes including hedges, meadows and marshes.
The 13-hectare space is ideal for raising awareness about the environment amongst young people.
The Olivier Park also has a lovely shaded area under the trees where you can relax. Picnic tables, benches and bins are available.
A dinosaur plant!
While strolling through the park, from March to October, you will see a surprising plant: the horsetail. Present on Earth for more than 250 million years, it can reach 50 centimetres in height. Herbivore dinosaurs loved it! Today, this plant is used for its medicinal properties.
