Le Puy Sainte-Réparade is a Provençal village in the north of the Bouches-du-Rhône department.
Its location, in contact with Aix en Provence and on the edge of the Durance, is in the centre of the area marking a transition between Greater Aix and the towns of the Lubéron.
The territory of Le Puy is enclosed by natural frontiers: the Rognes massif to the west, the Trévaresse range to the south and the Durance river to the north.
The Quilho (Keel) hill, a natural fortress overlooking the present village, gave its name to Le Puy, "Puech" or Hill in Provençal.
It is an active village, with a renovated municipal swimming pool, tennis courts, a gymnasium, a bowling alley, walking and cycling routes, and fishing in the Durance.
See also the Château d'Arnajon (historical monument) and the church of the Assumption of Sainte Marie.
"Sainte Réparade" is probably a corruption of the name "Sainte Réparate", a saint whose relics were transferred to the parish of Saint Maurice du Puy in the 11th century.
