Just a stone's throw from the center of Arles, the LUMA Arles park is a contemporary landscaped area where nature, art and experimentation meet in a unique atmosphere. A place to discover as the seasons go by.
Designed by landscape architect Bas Smets, the LUMA Arles garden extends over four hectares around Frank Gehry's La Tour. There's no classical staging here: the landscape is built in a constant dialogue between Mediterranean biodiversity, arid soils, endemic vegetation and artistic interventions. Pines, cypresses, grasses, aromatic plants and winding paths invite free, almost instinctive exploration. Far from being artificial, the garden reveals a fine attention to climate, water and the local environment. Each path offers a different experience, combining observation, sensations and visual surprises.
A living place that evolves over time and questions our relationship with the landscape.
