The château de Vallauris, formerly the Abbaye de Lérins priory, was rebuilt in the 16th century and is one of the region's very few Renaissance-era buildings. It is home to the “War and Peace” National Picasso Museum in the Romanesque chapel, the Magnelli Museum and the Ceramics Museum.

The wish expressed by Alberto Magnelli during his lifetime has been respected: the city has kept intact the collection of the Florentine painter. Thus was born the monographic museum that pays tribute to him in the Castle of Vallauris. The exhibition retraces the artist's career through paintings, prints and collages.
