The Musée Maurice Pezet, named after its founder, is a museum of local history and ethnography that has been open to the public since 1967.
It is managed and run by volunteers from the association ‘Les Amis du Vieil Eygalières’, which was responsible for restoring the 16th-century Chapelle des Pénitents Blanc, which houses the museum.
Visitors can discover
- a collection of Palaeolithic, Neolithic (from local excavations), Iron Age and Gallo-Roman artefacts,
- an exhibition of farming tools, accompanied by old photos, documents and fossils,
- and hand-written panels that tell the story of Eygalières from its origins to the present day.
Opening hours: opening organised by ‘Les Amis du Vieil Eygalières’ on Sunday afternoons and public holidays from March to November.
Also open during the European Heritage Days.
Free admission. Guided tours on request.
