Created by the sculptor Pretus and inaugurated in September 1991, this monument features a young girl, symbol of the french resistance, standing with pride and holding the patriotic flame. Barbed wires sculpted at the buttom of the statue remind of the time when France was occupied (1939-1945). Clavier, a focal point for Resistance, saw on 16th August 1944 three of its resistance fighters killed at the Estau Bridge, on the road to Draguignan.
This monument depicts a young girl, symbolizing the Resistance, proudly holding up the patriotic flame. At the bottom of the flame, barbed wire carved in stone recalls the occupation of France during the years 1939 - 1945.
